When Spring arrives, Ojai Pixie tangerines are not far behind. Pixies are a late-season variety which usually runs from early spring through early summer, or until they are gone.
Pixie tangerines are seedless, easy to peel and very sweet. Because of their low acid content compared to many other citrus varieties, they are the ideal fruit for folks that are sensitive to acidic foods. A medium sized tangerine has approximately 50 calories. They
are an excellent source of potassium, fiber and packed with Vitamin C as well as some calcium and iron.
Because Pixie tangerines are seedless, they can be added to light summer salads or mixed in cocktails. Remember the season is short, so enjoy them while they last.
