Spin on Traeger Grill’s Queso Dip

Traeger Grills is a crave worthy brand to follow. The recipes they come up with are inspiring & delicious! Firing up the grill and whipping up something tasty is a true past time. However, we know that many folks either don't care to grill or just simply aren't able to. So, we adjusted the recipe a bit to prepare this dish in the oven. It turned out just as delicious!


To start, get the oven preheated to 350°


Ingredients

  • 12-1ounce slices pepper jack cheese cut into 1” squares

  • 2-bags shredded sharp cheddar cheese

  • 1# Alexander’s Prime Grade ground round

  • 1 brown onion, diced

  • 1 Jalapeño, diced or sliced (If you like it super spicy use two serrano peppers)

  • 1 ½ containers cherry tomato’s cut in 4 pieces

  • Chili powder

  • Cayenne pepper

  • Turmeric

  • Garlic salt


Directions

  • Brown Alexander’s Prime Grade ground round in pan

  • Add chili powder, cayenne, garlic salt and turmeric to meat as it cooks

  • Drain out excess liquid

  • Add ½ of diced onions to meat mixture and mix

  • Place ground round into casserole dish - check out photo to tip on placement

  • Add shredded cheddar cheese, squares of pepper Jack cheese, ½ diced onion, diced Jalapeño and cherry tomatoes into the casserole dish. Try to segregate ingredients as you will stir everything once recipe has been in oven for twenty minutes and has time to melt and mingle

  • Cover casserole dish with tin foil and place casserole dish into oven

  • Cook for thirty minutes, stirring recipe 3-4 times.

  • After cooking thirty minutes, uncover & mix thoroughly then cook uncovered for another fifteen minutes.

  • Serve warm with tortilla chips, Howie’s house made guacamole and chunky salsa
